The 20th IEEE International Symposium on Medical Information and Communication Technology, ISMICT 2026, aims to establish a forum to present new research and development results, exchange ideas, discuss practices, and share experiences among Technology and Medicine sides, including healthcare, wellness, clinical therapy, and surgery, as well as ICT, mechanical, and biomedical engineering. Moreover, activities of standard, regulation and business for medical ICT devices, systems and services will be promoted by national and international government and industry. ISMICT 2026 will be held in Osaka Metropolitan University Academic Extension Center, 28-30 September 2026. Papers are invited on topics including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Communication systems for medical applications
  • Body area network (BAN) technologies
  • Privacy and security issues
  • Wearable and implantable devices
  • Wellness and sports training
  • Medical device regulatory science
  • Rehabilitation and activity monitoring
  • Pervasive health care and patient monitoring
  • Antennas and radio propagation for Wireless BAN
  • Internet of Medical Things
  • AI/data analytics for medicine, healthcare and welfare
  • Intelligent hospitals
Authors are invited to submit full papers of 4-6 pages or short papers of 1-3 pages. The review process is according to the IEEE regulations and accepted papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore.

It is great honor for us to welcome you to the 20th International Symposium on Medical Information and Communication Technology (ISMICT 2026), which will be held in Osaka Metropolitan University Academic Extension Center, Osaka, Japan on 28-30 September 2026. ISMICT 2026 will offer 3-day symposium to present new research and development results, exchange ideas, and share experiences among Technology and Medicine sides, including healthcare, wellness, clinical therapy, and surgery, as well as ICT, mechanical, and biomedical engineering. We are sure that it will be a good opportunity for attendees to discuss cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Medical Things and AI-enabled Medicine in Osaka.

ISMICT 2026 will have 2 keynotes, 12 regular sessions, and a single special session, which covers a wide variety of topics in the medical and information technologies, including healthcare, wellness, biomedical engineering, wearable and implantable devices, ICT for medical applications, AI/data analytics for medicine, body area network, and privacy, security, and regulation issues.

We would like to sincerely thank the authors, reviewers, and organizers of special session for the contributions to form this final program with high-quality content. Each submitted paper has been reviewed by at least 2 reviewers and evaluated in a rigorous and fair manner, considering the novelty and originality, the technical soundness, and the quality of presentation. In the end, more than 40 papers have been selected for presentations in regular sessions based on the average received score.

We sincerely hope that you will find the program interesting and that ISMICT 2026 will be a great opportunity to further advance the state-of-the-art in the field of medical information and communications technology.
